2027 Evergreen Author Mastermind Retreat

The Evergreen Author Mastermind Retreat is a small, immersive weekend designed for writers who want more than inspiration. It is a space to think deeply about your work, strengthen your craft, make meaningful progress, and connect with other authors who understand the creative and professional realities of writing.

Set in the mountains of western North Carolina, our 2027 retreat will bring together a limited group of writers for a weekend centered on romance and women’s fiction, with programming designed to meet authors at different stages of their careers.

​

This is not a packed conference schedule.

​

There are no crowded ballrooms, endless panels, or pressure to be everywhere at once.

​

Instead, the retreat combines focused instruction, guided mastermind conversations, practical workshops, dedicated writing time, and opportunities to connect with other writers in a relaxed, supportive environment.

Designed for Where You Are

​

Writers do not all need the same advice at the same time.

​

Our retreat programming will include opportunities for authors at three general stages:

Beginning Authors
Build a stronger foundation in craft, storytelling, publishing, and the practical realities of developing a writing career.

​

Developing Authors
Strengthen existing skills, troubleshoot challenges, refine your process, and begin making more intentional decisions about your writing and publishing goals.

Career Authors
Step away from the constant demands of production and promotion to evaluate what is working, reconsider what is not, and make strategic decisions about the next stage of your creative career.

​

You may find yourself moving between levels depending on the topic—and that is exactly the point.

​

What to Expect

​

Throughout the weekend, participants can expect a blend of craft education, guided discussions, mastermind sessions, writing time, and practical conversations about the realities of building and sustaining an author career.

Topics may include character development, emotional storytelling, revision, reader expectations, author identity, publishing strategy, creative sustainability, marketing, and long-term career planning.

The goal is not to send you home with another notebook full of ideas you never have time to implement.

​

We want you to leave with clarity, practical next steps, meaningful connections, and progress already underway.

​

Small by Design

The 2027 Evergreen Author Mastermind Retreat will be intentionally limited to approximately 15 participants.

​

Keeping the group small allows us to create space for real conversation, individualized attention, collaboration, and the kind of connections that are difficult to build at large conferences.

​

You will have opportunities to learn from experienced professionals, but you will also learn from the other writers in the room.

​

Because sometimes the conversation over coffee is just as valuable as the workshop.

​

The Mountains Are Part of the Experience

The retreat will take place in the Boone/West Jefferson area of North Carolina, surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains.

​

We want the setting to feel like an actual retreat: a chance to step outside your normal routine, slow down, focus on your creative work, and spend a few days with people who understand why stories matter so much to you.

​

Our primary programming will run Friday through Sunday, with participants encouraged to arrive Thursday and depart Monday when possible.
