Outreach Programs
Our outreach programs include a variety of projects we are passionate about. Through these initiatives, we will reach a variety of current and future published authors. Writing is about so much more than publishing and profiting from words. The outreach section is designed to inspire creative writing in its many forms and genres. These programs will allow us to engage with our communities, inspire healing through creative expression, encourage meaningful and impactful expereinces, and support personal and community growth through writing.

Appalachain Legacy
Executive Director, Tonya Nagle, PhD is interested in interviewing writers who live within Appalachia about their writing life.
From those affected by Hurricane Helene to those affected by their location as a writer, the podcast series will be published on EAR's YouTube channel late 2025.

All Those Stories You Tell
The founders of EAR all have military affiliation and it is natural for us to want to provide resources for our active duty, veterans, and their family members with resources.
Whether conducting interviews to contribute to the Library of Congress Veteran's Oral History Project, or providing workshops and resources for writers seeking a way to communicate with others, remember those we love and those we lost, process events and expereinces, or maybe even pursue publishing avenues regarding their time and memories as active duty, reserve, veteran, spouse, or family members.

The Evergreen Journal
Innaugural issue 2026. This will be a publishing and writing focused, peer-reviewed, annual (at least for now) journal featuring field research, interviews, first-person essays, scholarly studies of publishing and writing (from a historical, contemporary, and futuristic lense), reviews of: books for writers, films (such as documentaries on writers or fictionalized portrayals of writers), recordings (such as audiobooks, podcasts, video blogs, etc.), blogs, events, and other resources pertaining to writing and publishing.
See Submission Guidelines for Writers for more information.
Want your book, film, blog, event, or other resource reviewed? See Submission for Review Guidelines for more information.

T.A.L.E.S Fiction Anthology
The anthology offers afull publishing experience from aquisitions, editing, and marketing, the expereince of being published is one you will not forget.
Tales of... was started by two friends who both loved to share their stories with the world and help other authors. Jamie Dalton and DC Gomez decided to combine both those loves with a series of short story collections.
T.A.L.E.S. has been incorporated into the EAR publishing system to provide authors with a traditional publishing experience within a small publisher environment.
This not only gives the Evergreen Authors an opportunity to publish the stories they love writing, but also lets them help authors at all publishing stages by providing a professionally designed cover for each anthology, professional editing services for accepted submissions, and authors earn royalties on the electronic and print book sales through Draft2Digital.
If you are looking for an opportunity to learn and make connections in the author community, check out the upcoming theme and prepare your submissions.
Between 5-8 stories will be chosen to be published in that edition.
